NAFCO is proud to share a major milestone in the ongoing 10-mile overland coal conveyor project in partnership with Wolf Point Engineers. Since the initial fabrication phase, significant progress has been made, and the vision for a more sustainable coal transportation system is becoming a reality.
NAFCO is nearing completion of steel shipments to the field for all ground frame modules and over 4 miles of shop-assembled trusses. On-site assembly is well underway, and key segments of the conveyor structure are being successfully erected across the Alabama landscape. This marks a critical phase in the project, as the system begins to take physical shape and demonstrate the scale and precision of our efforts.

“The progress we’ve made on this conveyor system is a testament to the dedication of our team and partners. It’s exciting to watch this project come to life and to know we’re contributing to a more efficient and sustainable future for coal transport.”

Each phase of this project continues to reflect NAFCO’s dedication to quality, innovation, and collaboration. Our shop assembly process has ensured high accuracy and reduced time in the field — streamlining installation and minimizing disruptions during construction.
As the conveyor infrastructure comes together, the benefits are becoming more tangible: a safer, more efficient coal transport system that significantly reduces emissions and roadway impact by eliminating long-haul trucking.
This progress reinforces our commitment not only to engineering excellence but to building solutions that support a cleaner, more efficient future. NAFCO remains excited about the path ahead and proud to play a leading role in this transformative project.
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach final assembly and system commissioning.
