What we can do.
Through our three sites in Alabama and our Chicago-based engineering and construction division, Wolf Point Engineers & Contractors, we provide a comprehensive range of front-end services as well as field services to take structural steel projects all the way from inception to completion and beyond, including:
- Commercial fabrication for office buildings, educational facilities, healthcare facilities, military hangars, churches, and retail centers
- Industrial fabrication of heavy plate work, chutes, structural steel, and miscellaneous steel for a wide variety of industrial plants
- OEM fabrication providing subassembly steel fabricated items for use in the manufacturing of equipment for waste recycling, forestry, and construction
- Engineering services are custom-tailored to each customer’s needs on any given structural steel project
- Structural detailing services for any type of project for steel fabrication, utilizing AutoCad2013® and Design Data® structural detailing software

- Erection services through either our erection crews or third-party erectors, as needed
- Turnkey design solutions for bulk-material-handling projects related to power generation, coal production, pulp and paper manufacturing, aggregate plants, and transporting heavy minerals
- Maintenance personnel for servicing wear items on engineered products
Along with AWS and CWB certifications, we have earned AISC Standard for Steel Building Structures (STD) and Sophisticated Paint Endorsement-Enclosed (P1) certifications. We are the largest specialized conveyor fabricator in the United States and the only conveyor fabricator certified by AISC.

Structural Detailing Services
NAFCO’s in-house detailing operation began in 1953 and we’re still at it today. We use the latest modelling technology with both Tekla and SDS/2, along with decades of detailing experience to understand your project and provide best-in-class detailing services.
Miscellaneous Steel
NAFCO fabricates miscellaneous steel in-house. Stairs, handrail, grating, ladders, etc. We’re a one-stop-shop to ensure the highest standards in quality and schedule.

Engineering
NAFCO has extensive in-house engineering services in our Birmingham office and with our Chicago-based division, Wolf Point Engineers. We provide in-house connection and stair design as well as full scale engineering services to assist your project from start to finish.

Sophisticated Paint Systems
Our climate-controlled, sophisticated-endorsed shop facilities and years of experience allow us to apply multi-coat paint systems in house. We provide blasting and surface preparation and have extensive experience with zinc, epoxy, polyurethane, polysiloxane, and many other sophisticated paint systems. Our know-how, facilities, and quality save you time and money versus field-application.
Shop Applied Fireproofing
As the industry moves to more shop-applied intumescent fireproofing, NAFCO has the detailing, fabrication, and coatings expertise to service our customers.
